Billerica High Cell-out to Help Boy with Leukemia Worthy of a Standing ‘O’

Members of the Billerica High School hockey team are
giving up their cell phones for 30 days to raise money in support of a teammate
with leukemia being treated at Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood
Disorders Center, the Lowell Sun reports.It will be a huge challenge, students told the
paper, but it's all for a great cause, raising money for Billerica
12-year-old Ian Cadden, who is battling leukemia. "This is awesome,
really special," said Ian, watching students place their phones in sealed
plastic bags and hand them over to Billerica police officers for storage in
their evidence locker. "It means a lot, really cool."
