In overhauling Obamacare the details matter

January 27, 2017

Rick Goldstein, MD

Section 2302 of the Affordable Care Act may seem like a small detail in the debate about the law’s future, but in an op-ed column for Tribune News Service, pediatric palliative care physician Richard Goldstein,MD, cites its importance to families who once had to give up disease-directed, life-prolonging treatments for their dying children if they want the comfort and support of hospice services. Any changes to the law, Goldstein argues, should preserve families’ access to concurrent care for their seriously ill or dying children.
