Nurse Lauded for Efforts with Patients

Amy Federico McVeigh found a role model in her female primary care provider from the time she was a little girl. Now 45, she has been working as a nurse for 24 years and nurse practitioner for 15. She’s been at Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s for seven years, and the Mill Foundation for Kids recently recognized her with an “Above and Beyond” award, the Portsmouth Herald reports. "I have this opportunity to help kids and families get through this crisis time," she tells the paper, "I'm really happy in that role."
