Patricia Branowicki Elected to American Academy of Nursing

(News release) Patricia A. Branowicki, nurse leader of Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, has been named a fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Nursing. She becomes one of only approximately 2,000 nurses across the country to receive this honor. Ms. Branowicki is associate chief nurse for
medicine patient services at Boston Children’s Hospital and associate chief nurse of pediatric oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Ms. Branowicki’s accomplishments include serving as nursing lead in a partnership to build a pediatric cancer hospital in Mexico slated to open in late November, overseeing the training in pediatric oncology of more than 500 nurses in developing countries, and the creation at Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s of a nurse-led home visit program for the families of children newly diagnosed with cancer.
