Intimate photos show young Guatemalan boy’s journey through cancer
November 11, 2016
The Washington Post published a photo essay on a young
Guatemalan boy’s experience with cancer as part of the documentary film project
How I Live, which is advised by Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Global HealthInitiative. As part of the project, Photographer Scott Woodward has
been looking into children’s cancer in resource-limited countries. Although
childhood cancer in the developed world posts overall survival rates of about
80 percent, in low- and middle-income countries overall survival is only about
20 percent.
