Ask About Our Treatment Options

There’s a reason Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center is ranked the #1 pediatric cancer center by U.S. News & World Report. Our Center provides more specialists, more programs, and more clinical trials than almost any other pediatric cancer center in the world. That means your child will have access to treatment options that may not be available at other Centers. Your child’s doctors will have specialized expertise in your child’s specific type of cancer. And your entire family will appreciate programs that go beyond direct treatment to address emotional concerns, long-term survivorship, and much more.

Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center seamlessly integrates two internationally-recognized research and teaching institutions that have provided comprehensive care for pediatric cancer and blood disorder patients since 1947. Our patients receive inpatient care at Boston Children’s Hospital and outpatient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Both Dana-Farber and Boston Children’s are affiliated with Harvard Medical School.

Our oncologists are among the world leaders in their respective specialties. Many of our physicians have pioneered treatments for pediatric cancer that have been adopted by medical communities around the globe.

Dana-Farber/Boston Children's brings together two organizations with a long history of innovation. Since the 1940s, when Sidney Farber achieved the first remissions of acute lymphocytic leukemia in children, pioneering physician researchers at Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s have been at the forefront of life-saving breakthroughs in the fight against pediatric cancer and blood disorders.

Many of our groundbreaking discoveries continue to influence the way pediatric cancer and blood disorders are treated around the world. Currently, we are among the world’s leaders in the development of three innovative new therapies: Gene Therapy, Immunotherapy and Vaccine Therapy. Each of these innovations holds the promise of improving outcomes and reducing side effects and recovery times for children with cancer and blood disorders.

Patients coming to Dana-Farber/Boston Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center gain access to the combined resources of both a renowned cancer treatment and research institution and a top children’s hospital — including state-of-the art treatment facilities that allow our doctors and nurses to provide the safest and most effective care possible

We subscribe to the notion that a hospital is only as good as its nurses and staff. Each of our nurses average 10 years of experience caring for young children with cancer and blood disorders. Our nursing teams have been awarded Magnet status, an exclusive designation developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center to recognize health care organizations that exemplify nursing excellence. Our treatment teams also include social workers, psychologists, resource specialists, and special educators, all of whom have special expertise in the social, emotional, and psychological aspects of caring for children with cancer and blood disorders.
