Seminar: Causes and effects of the shortage of oncology drugs

May 17, 2013

Both patients and caregivers in the US have faced recent drug shortages, predominantly of generic injectable agents. The reasons for these shortages are complex and include narrow profit margins for generic drugs, limited number of manufacturers, increased worldwide demand, shortages of raw materials, production problems, aging production plants, stockpiling, and long timelines for approval. Join us for a seminar on the causes and effects of the shortages that have been experienced in the US, and a discussion of lessons learned and how these can offer global solutions for children with cancer globally.
