Patient & Family Advisory Council

Pediatric Patient and Family Advisory Council (PPFAC) members

The Pediatric Patient and Family Advisory Council (PPFAC) is a group of pediatric patients and caregivers who partner with Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s staff, providers, and leadership to help shape decisions that affect the patient experience.

What we do

Advocate for expanded support services including our Transitioning Off Treatment program, which guides families with a child nearing the end of his or her treatment.

Partner with hospital administration for more flexibility including the Home Hydration Program, which allows patients to hydrate at home instead of overnight at the hospital.

Improve infrastructure and physical spaces, including the renovations to the Jimmy Fund Clinic and Boston Children's Oncology Unit.

Implement more family-friendly initiatives including the Weekend Initiative, a monthly coffee hour during which patients and families can drop in to share their thoughts and ask pediatric council members questions.

Looking to get involved? Join us!

    • Do you have an interest in improving the patient experience?
    • Are you able to think outside of your own patient experience to provide feedback that benefits all pediatric patients and families?
    • Can you attend a two-hour meeting in the evening on either the third or fourth Tuesday of each month?
    • Are you able to volunteer 2-5 hours per month and commit to 1 year of service?
